The Valencian Community has registered for the first time in its history more than 7,000 lightning strikes, as stated by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).

This November has been a record month in the Valencian Community, placing the day with the most lightning strikes (7,087 recorded so far; of the 45,000 strikes that AEMET recorded, 7,000 fell in the Valencian Community.

In addition to being the November day with the most recorded lightning strikes within the Community, in the historical record, it is the eleventh in the series of lightning strikes since 2000. By provinces, 4,500 fell in Valencia, 2,000 in Castellón and approximately 600 in Alicante.
